A state of emergency has been declared in Berlin following a large-scale power outage.

The authorities of the German capital reported a serious disruption to the electricity supply caused by an act of arson. Law enforcement agencies believe that left-wing extremist groups may be behind the incident. According to Stromnetz Berlin, approximately 30,000 households and around 1,700 commercial customers remain without electricity. Repair crews are continuing restoration efforts, which are expected to be completed by Thursday.
