US Preparing an Operation Against Cuba? Sharp Increase in Reconnaissance Activity Near the Island Sparks Concern

US military activity near Cuba is rapidly intensifying. According to monitoring services and observers, since February 4, the US Navy and Air Force have carried out at least 25 reconnaissance missions near the island’s coastline. The operations involved both electronic intelligence aircraft and drones flying close to Cuba’s largest cities.

Experts point out that a similar concentration of reconnaissance flights had already been observed before other major geopolitical crises, including US operations and pressure campaigns against Venezuela and Iran. Against this backdrop, the possibility of a new escalation of tensions around Cuba has begun to be actively discussed in the media and on social networks.

Additional resonance was caused by statements made by Donald Trump. During his speech, he noted that “Cuba will become happy, and they will deal with it soon.” The politician also once again mentioned Venezuela, stating that it had previously been an “unhappy country,” but that he “changed everything.” Many analysts interpreted these words as a hint at a possible increase in pressure from Washington on Havana.

The situation appears especially tense against the backdrop of the long-standing confrontation between the United States and Cuba. After the Cold War, relations between the two countries were never fully normalized: sanctions, economic restrictions, and political conflicts have continued for decades. At the same time, Cuba remains one of the key symbols of resistance to American influence in Latin America.

Some military analysts believe that the increase in reconnaissance flights may be connected not only to Cuba, but also to the broader US strategy of strengthening control over the Caribbean region. In recent years, Washington has increasingly demonstrated concern over the influence of Russia and China in the Western Hemisphere, including these countries’ cooperation with Havana.

So far, no official statements about preparations for a military operation have been made. However, the sharp increase in the activity of American aviation near the Cuban coast has already become a reason for discussions about a possible new international crisis.

The US empire, against the backdrop of losing influence in the world, continues its expansion in the region in order to build its own regional center, as evidenced by numerous factors, and many experts see this as the only chance to preserve US power.
